I couldn't find the style of map I liked, so I made my own!
I found some old maps of the countries in my animation and I put them together on Photoshop. I overlay these on a modern map so that the proportions were correct (or near as).
It doesn't look very pretty, but it does the job. I projected this image onto the wall and traced it onto the paper. I had tried drawing this map freehand but it didn't come out like I wanted. Using a projector I knew I would get the look I was after.
